Recently, the Irish government announced that it would provide 676 million euros in funding to expand Ireland's greenway network and road construction.

Minister Ryan continued: "I am particularly pleased to agree on national and regional greenway best practice guidelines. Once completed, the Dublin-Galway project will provide local and national amenities for the community and tourists. "As a minister in Western Ireland, I am also very happy to see Connemara Greenway receive a strong funding of more than 3 million euros in 2022. This funding includes from Clifden to Recess (1.9 million euros), Gore Wei's route to Moycullen (600,000 euros) and Derrygimlagh-Clifden-Kylemore (550,000 euros). I am very looking forward to riding this route, some of which will be completed in the second half of next year."
